Workstation Checklist

Take 5 minutes to assess your workstation
Desk
- Is your desk large enough for the tasks you need to do?
- Is it free of clutter?
- Do you have legroom beneath the desk?
Chair
- Is your chair set up for you to offer back support and at the right height to offer comfort for your arms?
- If your chair has arms, are they adjustable and do they fit comfortable under the desk?
Keyboard
- Is your keyboard located in front of you?
- Is it suitable for your needs?
Mouse
- Is your mouse located as close to your keyboard as possible to encourage your arms to be at right angles?
- Is it of a suitable size and design for your needs?
- Do you require a mouse rest?
Screen
- Is the top of the screen at or below eye level so you can read it without bending your head or neck down/back?
- If you wear bifocals is the screen positioned as low as possible to avoid pulling your head back?
- Is the screen the right distance away to allow you to read the screen without leaning your head, neck or trunk forward/backward?
- Is the monitor directly in front of you so you don't have to twist your head or neck?
- Is your screen free from glare and reflections (for example, from windows, lights)?
Telephone
- Is it located on the opposite side to your dominant hand?
- Can it be used with your head in neutral?
- Do you require a headset for inputting data while you are talking?
Document Holder
- Do you require a document holder?
- If you have a document holder, is it positioned at the same height and distance away as your screen?
